The line is designed to benefit from liquid silane cross-linking technology for MV power cable up to 36 kV. The liquid silane cross-linking allows higher line speed with respect to vulcanization in the catenary tube, with lower investment costs. The line requires smaller room compared to the catenary line and remains a more versatile extrusion line.
The extruder group includes a main extruder 30D recommended to ensure PE grafting and peroxide decomposition and then high cross-linked degree with minimum silane dosage, and two auxiliary extruders 25D for inner and outer semiconductors. The triple layer crosshead for MV cables applies he three layers simultaneously.
