THHN and THWN cable extrusion line

The line is designed for insulation and jacketing of THHN and THWN cables. This extrusion line is developed for high speed continuous operation. Cerrini proposes two extrusion line configurations: the more common tandem configuration where the extruder for processing PA jacketing is tandemized with the main insulation extruder group and the co-extrusion technology of insulation and PA jacketing which allows higher line speeds and less space required. All thermoplastic materials, HFFR compounds and PA can be efficiently processed.

Main technical features of tandem configuration:

    • Main extruder TR.100 25D for insulation and skin/stripe auxiliary extruder TR.45 25D + thermoplastics crosshead
    • Jacketing extruder TR.60 25D for PA tandemized with main extruder group
    • Extrusion crosshead 12/16 for PA
    • Cooling trough for the optimal final polyamide structure
    • Automatic dual take-up for constant high speed lines

The co-extrusion configuration main technical features are the following:

    • Extrusion group composed of main extruder TR.100 25D for insulation + skin/stripe auxiliary extruder TR.45 25D + jacketing extruder TR.60 25D for PA
    • Co-extrusion double/triple layer crosshead for the simultaneous extrusion of thermoplastics and polyamide
    • Cooling trough for the optimal final polyamide structure
    • Automatic dual take-up for constant high speed lines
